Up for auction is this beautifully rendered Pintail Duck carved from Western Cedar by Ralph Davis, of Cairo Ga., in 1993. All of that information is marked on the bottom and sums up most of what I know about this carving. The gentleman who sold me this,  and several other carvings by Mr. Davis, is a decoy collector who said he encountered Mr. Davis' work at the Georgia State Fair in 1993.

The duck measures about 14 inches long overall, and about 5½ inches tall. The finish appears to be a hand-rubbed shellac finish, which has some small imperfections that are visible in the photo.
