Up for auction is
this very detailed Indonesian painting depicting what I think depicts a
Balinese religious ceremony or festival. The bottom half of the painting
shows a group of colorfully clad villagers, and the top half represents a
temple.
The painting is signed on
the front and the back. The front signature contains the words JMD. Nawi,
Penestanan and Ubud-Bali. The painting measures 15 x 23 inches.
The painting appears to be
some sort of acrylic on a very fine weave canvas. There is some mild
craquelure present, but no missing paint. The colors are strong. The
painting appears to be on its original stretcher, but it's poorly framed.
