You're viewing an Orrefors Ravenna art glass dish, designed by Sven Palmqvist. It measures 4½ by 3¾ by 2¼ inches. This piece has the artist's full signature. It's also marked "Ravenna N: 1114" which indicates it was made in 1956, according to the Great Glass Web site. The piece is in excellent, near-mint condition with no scratches, abrasions, dinks or other problems. There is some slight wear to the base, as you might expect from something that has spent 60 years on a shelf.

This is a very nice example of Palmqvist's technique of decorating the glass with an internal grid-work of continuous lines formed with controlled bubbles. This is also a very rare example completed in pure red glass with a completely clear grid. Generally the Ravenna pieces typically are done in cobalt blue, with a little rusty red color running through the clear. This piece has been in my personal collection for more than 17 years, and it’s only the second red one I’ve ever seen.
