The
Poetical Works of Thomas Moore, 1831
Up for sale is "The Poetical Works of Thomas Moore, including his Melodies, Ballads, Etc. Complete in One Volume." This book was published in Philadelphia in 1831 by J. Crissy and J. Grigg. It was stereotyped by L. Johnson, according to the title page. The 419-page book is leather bound with minor gilt trim and has marbled endpapers. It has a steel plate engraving of Thomas Moore on the page facing the title page. The leather cover shows significant wear and staining. The binding is tight and there are no lose pages. The endpaper colors remain bright, but there is significant foxing and mottling throughout the book. Flipping through the book I find a couple of minor dog ears and one damaged page (257-258) that looks to have been ripped with a knife. neither of the adjacent pages have any damage, however. All-in-all I would rate this book as being in Good condition. But book condition ratings are almost entirely subjective. For that reason I link my images to high-resolution versions, so you can better judge it yourself. Your questions are
